Mrs Helen Oduntan is a pharmacy graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She had her postgraduate education at the University of Ibadan(MSc Pharmacology) as well as the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists where she is a Fellow of the Faculty of Social and Administrative Pharmacy. She is a certified Professional Manager of the Nigerian Institute of Management(NIM). Mrs Oduntan has specialist training in management of pain (through Treat the Pain intitiative of the American Cancer Society) and adverse drug reactions (National Pharmacovigilance Centre of NAFDAC). In addition, her experience of over three decades as a hospital pharmacist with the Oyo State Ministry of Health and the University College Hospital, Ibadan has brought her in close contact with SCD patients and the various health and drug use challenges they may experience. She counsels SCD individuals and their carers on the importance of medication adherence, adverse drug reactions as well as the dangers of analgesic drug misuse, abuse and addiction. Mrs Helen Oduntan joined the SCHAF team from inception and has served in various capacities as a member of the Management and Central Working Committee as well as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees. She is the current Vice-President.
